Sayyid Amīn Kutbi was Shaykh Mujahid’s main Ustādh and Mujīz. The Shaykh received from his teachers in Makkah the thabat of Sayyidi Mahfūdh al-Tirmisi (a Makki scholar from Java, Indonesia). Sidi Mahfūdh Tirmisi was a humble man whom scholars rushed to for knowledge on hadith. He penned a commentary (sharh) on Imam ‘Irāqi’s Alfiyyah fil hadīth. An old copy of Sidi Mahfūdh Tirmisi’s thabat is preserved at the Zawia in Cape Town, Walmer Estate.

  1. Salaam Sh Khalfe
Sanads have parallels in doctoral degrees (PhDs) as in ‘the West’ , a kind of genealogy where a PhD holder can trace her lineage to Piaget, for example.
    Stay safe
